Day 210 of 2021-Take some deep breathes today

 Good Morning! Hope your week is going well. For your something to think or do today, try to take as many deep breathes as you can. 

A lot of us just go through the day and forget to truly breath. Deep breathes really help with centering yourself and releasing some of the stress. 

Set a reminder if you need to and when you can just stand up (or sit) and take 3-5 deep breathes. Notice how it makes you feel. Try to do this everyday. I bet you will notice a lot and how deep breathes just makes you feel a lot better and lighter. 

Remember you are worthy and you matter.

Day 209 of 2021-Your end of day part 2

 Good Morning, I wanted to come back to the post I did a couple of days ago about end of day. I was working and had to just stop since it was getting late and I needed to get dinner started, and post on my blog.

So I really don't like to just end the day abruptly when there is so much going on and really kind of thinking through about how can slow my late afternoons down a little so that I can end the day at a decent hour. 

Its really hard to do that when you are working from home but I do feel it is especially more important to do it and set a boundary to end the day. The work will always be there when you return the next morning. Yesterday, I was working on an important project that is due next week so when 4:00pm came close, I stopped working on it and finished up where I was. 

Now, I am no where close to getting the project done, but I really wanted to get up from the chair, walk around, check in with my kids, think about checking the rest of the emails and wrapping up the day. it worked out much better for me. 

So from now on, decided that around 4:00pm I am going to do start wrapping it up and just stop what I am working on. I know that this may not work all the time, but on the days where there are no meetings or deadlines, I can certainly make it work.

So for your something to ponder over today, what changes can you implement to end your day at a decent hour and slow down? Is there anything that you can change or move around so you are able to gently step away from work and tend to other things in your life? 

We all can make it better for ourselves and we just need to set the right boundaries. You can do this and it does not even need to be anything too drastic. Start with one small change to end the day at a decent hour. Reflect on how it goes.

Day 208 of 2021-A nice walk this morning

 Good Morning! Hope your Tuesday morning is going well and you are able to fit in a walk or go to the gym. 

I had a really nice long walk this morning. I never realized how much I love walking and really want to fit it in everyday. In the summer its great to be able to leave early morning and be back before it gets too hot. In the fall or winter, I will likely have to change my schedule to go for a evening walk. 

Do you enjoy walking? If not, think about stepping out sometime and going for a small walk. Notice how you feel. Walking does have many health benefits and is something that is easy to do if you are new to exercising. You don't have to think or do much and it still does provide many of the benefits. 

I always thought that in order to get healthy or fit, cardio or weight training is the only way to go and while those are certainly effective, walking can also provide a nice break from the regular gym. I guess its important to switch things up and for me incorporating walking has become my new favorite exercise. 

I still love the gym and want to do weight training, but just walking outdoors really feeds my soul. I love the warm air and feel so energized when I return. I can't wait till tomorrow morning!!

Day 207 of 2021- End of day

 Hello Friends! Wow where has the day gone. I have been so busy with work and am just getting to write now. 

I hope that tomorrow I get to plan my end of day a little better so I can get some downtime. Today has been absolutely crazy busy.

Day 206 of 2021- Recovery day from Vacation

 Happy Sunday morning! What a great sleep last night!!! Great being home and truly nothing feels like home. My kids were so excited to get back home and looked forward to sleeping in their own beds. 

Today is just the day for recovery, unpacking and getting ready for the week ahead. I always like having a day especially after a long vacation to just have the time to get settled back in to the routine. 

For your something to ponder over today and, especially if you are returning from vacation, think about having the extra day to recover. It truly makes a difference in getting back to your routines. Even if you are not on vacation, how can you think about making one weekday or weekend a day of recovery. For me, I try to make that day on Sundays. Every Sunday is the day for recovery and rest. 

What day is your day for recovery and rest? Think about how you can really use that day to just reset your body. It does really help with your mental and physical health as you begin the new week and for me that recovery day  is not optional.

Day 205 of 2021-Heading home today

 Happy Saturday! Looking forward to returning home today. Its been a great 2 weeks with family and I am really home sick. 

It will be nice to get back to routine and back to my gym. Time does go by really fast and I hope that when you are on vacation, be present as much as possible and make the most of it. That time will not come again.

Day 204 of 2021-Friday Quote

 Good Friday Morning! So glad its the weekend. It has been hard working while visiting with family but I am glad that it has not been too crazy. 

This quote came in my inbox today:

I really have to remind myself of this every single day. I would love to live my life doing everything in a honorable and right way. Even when we are caught up in our emotions, wanting to curse or wish anything negative, I always have to remind myself that I need to honor myself first and do the right thing for me. 

If you live your life your life that way, you will get what you need and won't get what you don't need. That is the way I am interpreting the quote.

Day 203 of 2021- Still overly exhausted

 Hello Friends! How are you doing today? I am dehydrated and just overly exhausted. Once again, had trouble sleeping last night and was feeling really hot. 

So today, I hope to be able to just rest and take it easy. For your something to ponder over, notice how you are feeling and give yourself what your body needs. 

For me , its going to be lots of water and resting as much as I can although that will hard since I have to work all day. But I will try and I know that once I am back home this weekend, I will feel a lot better.

Day 202 of 2021-Rest time during vacation.

 Good Morning Friends! Hope you all are well. Glad it is Wednesday. Arrived at my husband's family place and it is really nice to see them. 

Time really does go by fast when you are on vacation and this one has been particularly exhausting. So for your something to ponder over, think about how you can really enjoy your vacation without feeling too exhausted. 

I am at a point where I am getting very few hours of sleep and have been on my feet most of the day so its gotten to point where my muscles are really sore. So now I know that I am going to need a vacation after this vacation to fully recover.

Vacations are great but not to a point where you are so exhausted that you can't even enjoy anymore. Build in rest time so you can recuperate and truly enjoy yourself.

Day 201 of 2021- Change of plans

 Hello Friends! Hope you all are well. Still away this week visiting more family members. Its nice to be away in a different location, enjoying and working at the same time. 

It's almost impossible to take that much time off when you are only on the job for the 3 months but thanks to the pandemic, remote working has made it possible to work anywhere. If you are working remotely, definitely use this time to visit other places and work from anywhere. Who knows how things will look like next summer. 

I am learning to just go with the flow and not try to manage or be strict with my schedule. I was initially planning to change my flight tickets so that I can go back early but the more I thought about it, I decided not to. I do miss home but I also know this is the time to build relationships with family and be with them so why not make the most of it. 

This is a huge change for me and I am glad that I decided to not leave early. So for your something to ponder over today, do you tend to have a really strict schedule with yourself when on vacation and if so can you try to relax it even if when you are on vacation?  How about sleeping in more? Or if you are working remotely, how about just enjoying the different scenery while working and just letting it be. 

Let go and just go with the flow is my new motto!

Day 200 of 2021-A milestone of posting

 How are you my friends! What's happening? I am so proud of myself for reaching a new milestone with posting consecutively for 200 days. For me it is such a great accomplishment. 

I said to myself at the start of the year that this will be the year that I will post something every single day even if nobody reads it, and nobody is reading it. I started this for myself and will continue to write something in it everyday for as long as I can. 

Its about getting setting your intentions and once you do, committing to it. I made a commitment to myself and am about to for other things in my life. You don't break the commitment to yourself not matter what.

Day 198 of 2021- Mid July review

 Good Early Morning! Rise and Shine my friends! Hope you are having a good start to the weekend. Something that I did a couple of days ago is the July mid month review. 

So for you something to wonder about, think about how the month is going? Any vacation plans and if not, what are some things that you can do to take sometime off, even a staycation for self care. List a few things that you are grateful for. 

What are some things that you would like to do by the end of the month that was not done in the beginning of the month? Take sometime to reflect and be gentle with yourself.

I am grateful for being with my kids enjoying our family time. One more week of vacation so planning to make the most of it every single minute!

Day 197 of 2021-Goodbye to my family

 Leaving my family today and heading to universal park with kids and from there to visit my husband's side of the family. Its been such a great week at the beach and I honestly am feeling a little sad to leave the beach. 

Being here has certainly made me realize how much I love the warm weather, beaches and winds. I can never get tired to waking up to the sight and sounds of the waves. 

The beach is the place for me where I can never feel tired and I now know that that is the place where I want to live after I retire.

So while its goodbye, its only for now. I will be back here again and will carry with me the lovely memories.

Day 195 of 2021- Are you really taking the day off

 Happy Wednesday morning! Hope you all are having a marvelous week. Why is it so hard to take a day off from work? 

I see people put in time off and I did the same as well for tomorrow but when its mentioned on a call, I have noticed the bosses having a dull reaction almost as if they don't want you taking off. Its weird but there are several times that this has happened.

Honestly, I don't really care and am still going to take the day off but just wish others did not react that way or say hey that's great, have a great time. The attitude of some senior leadership is really questionable as leaders.

But, you learn and I know that I will never react that way so you just brush off what you see and hear and just move on and enjoy your time off, just like I am.

If you are on vacation, enjoy your time off and just chill. Don't get bothered by anything else.

 Hey Friends! How are you all doing? Remember that today is today so as best as you can make the most of it. I am with family on vacation and even if it is raining outside, I still want to go out and walk in the rain and shop around. 

I have been in the mode to just enjoy. I absolutely love my morning walks and love being in the warm weather. I know that this time will not last so no matter what, I want to make the most of it and just enjoy.

 Good Afternoon friends! How are you doing? There was a major storm this morning and now its finally starting to clear. 

As with any storm, its important to remember that it comes and goes. No storm ever lasts no matter how strong or what the category is. A storm is a storm and you just have to take shade and go through it. Take shelter and protect yourself, but remember this storm too shall pass.

Day 191 of 2021- Nap time

 Good Saturday Afternoon! How are you doing? How is your day so far? So today, if you can, take a nap. I was so tired this morning that I fell asleep at around 10:30am for a short time and then fell asleep this afternoon again. Clearly I needed a nap.

I do not usually take a nap but this afternoon, I just had to. I was so tired that no matter what I did, I would have fallen asleep where ever I was. I really does help to reset and rest your body even if you are not a usual afternoon nap person.

So today think about taking a quick nap and see how you feel. Even if you don't fall asleep, rest your body and just lay down. See how you feel then. 

A nap is just not supposed to be long so set an alarm if you need to. Just an hours rest if you can. Anything more and I usually find myself even more groggy. So take a quick nap and enjoy the rest of your evening.

Day 189 of 2021-Rested today

 Good Thursday Morning Friends! How are you feeling this morning. I woke up this morning feeling so much more refreshed. I went for a walk this morning and did my normal routine. It feels so good to be energized and well rested. 

I wrote about really feeling exhausted yesterday and on a scale of 1 to 10, I was at a 10, completely feeling wiped out. I can't stress enough the importance of getting the rest you need to let your body recover. Today, I am at a 2, so I am feeling really good. Where are you on the scale today? If you have still feeling very tired, what can you do to catch up on your sleep?

I have been good about keeping myself on a schedule. Are you on a schedule? What does that currently look like? For me, waking up really early, getting my exercise in and doing my other self care routine really helps to set my day. I noticed that if I don't stick to my schedule, I really don't feel like myself and then I end up not sticking to my intentions for the day. 

So sticking to my schedule and getting the rest I need is success. Everything else flows much easier for me if I get a good night's rest and do my self care routine. 

So for your something to think about today, what schedule do you have in place and if you don't, what can you start doing to get yourself more in a routine? What makes you feel good in the morning? What new habits can you create? 

Take sometime and jot somethings down to help you get into a schedule. You may find it works or maybe you just function better without one. The intention is to follow what works best for you.

Day 188 of 2021-Exhausted today

 Good Wednesday morning friends! How is your short week so far? For those of you who had Monday off, I am sure the week is going by fast. I was all confused yesterday thinking it was Monday until my daughter me and kept saying no its Tuesday!

So what a busy start to the week. I have not been to the gym for the last 3 days and feel like I am still catching up on sleep from the long weekend. I did not realize how exhausted I was till the last couple of nights. 

I have been sleeping in and just letting my body rest. So on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most exhausted, how would you rate yourself? I am definitely a 10.

If you are rated higher than 7, what steps can you take to let your body rest and heal? Are you able to go to bed earlier today or sleep in tomorrow morning. Its so important that we let out bodies recover especially after a few days of no rest and not good sleep.

I like the idea of using a scale to rate my exhaustion or other areas or feeling that I am experiencing. It forces me to actually take action to bring the number on the scale down. I don't like feeling so exhausted so it is actually going to take a couple of days to recover. 

Well, the intention is to be aware of the exhaustion and to give yourself the time to rest and that is what I intend to do tonight as well. Hopefully by tomorrow, I will be able to rate my exhaustion a lot lower.

Day 186 of 2021-Are you off today?

 Happy Holiday! I know that some of you are off today due to July 4th falling on a Sunday. I am off and its always nice to have an extra day.

So how was your holiday? Did you get to see the fireworks? We were with friends and watching the fireworks was so spectacular. I love it and the kids had a blast. What a show it was and it certainly lit up the sky and my mood. 

I am very tired this morning and have a really tough week with work coming up. So I am trying to set my intentions to keep a positive and upbeat mood but have to admit its a lot harder when you are tired.

What type of week do you have coming up? Is it going to be pretty relaxing or hectic. How can you set intentions so no matter what type of week you are having you will keep a positive mindset? I know that given this week is extremely hard, I intend to be outside walking, creating my meal plans and journaling. All these will help me to better deal with the week ahead.

If you are off today, enjoy and spend sometime relaxing. I actually can't believe how fast the summer is going so if you love summer just like I do, enjoy every minute and don't forget to spend time outdoors.

Day 184 of 2021-Long weekend

 Good Morning Friends! Hope you are enjoying your long July 4th weekend. I have been struggling a bit this long weekend with a lot of feelings and lack of sleep. We are away for the weekend with friends and its been fun but also a lot of other feelings have come up.

I am going to enjoy no matter what but I also need to reflect on what's happening when I get caught up on my sleep. Its all good in a way and the key is not to fight or ignore any of the feelings.

Day 182 of 2021- Happy July

 Happy Thursday my friends! The good news is that its almost Friday and we are going away this weekend as well for July 4th. So exciting that my neighborhood is having fireworks this year. 

Any plans for the long weekend? Did you know that today is National creative ice cream flavors day? What are your favorite ice cream flavors? If you could create your own ice cream flavors with toppings, what would that be and taste like?

I love simple flavors like chocolate but I do also love half baked ice cream from Ben & Jerry's. I also like my ice cream without toppings, but if I had to pick a topping it would be heath bars. 

As we start the month, think about what intentions you would like to set? Anything special in terms of self care and vacation plans? I hope that I am able to spend time with family this month and my kids. I also hope to do a lot more journaling.
