HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SWEET PEA

So it was my little princess birthday on Jan 17th. Happy Birthday my sweet little pea!!!  Can't believe that she turned 6. Time is just flying by and before I know it she will be all grown up and leaving us for college. But right now, I can still carry her so I am going to enjoy it.

It's amazing so see just how they grow, all the things that they learn, say and do. I feel so blessed to have this responsibility and to be their mom. It truly is a miracle, the most amazing and difficult job but also the most rewarding thing in the world to raise someone.

I hope and pray that I am able to continue to being the best mom for both my kids. I look at them and realize how much they have taught me already the and yet I have so much to learn for them.

For her birthday this year, she had a total blast with her friends and her favorite hello kitty cake, chocolate of course! Just seeing her have such a good time brought me back to when she was a baby and boy have those last 6 years just flew by!! I give thanks for her and my son everyday.

As she grows, I am definitely going to share some of most important lessons and experiences I have had. I have already shared with both my kids some of my childhood experiences and will do so as they continue to grow. As she blew her candles, I prayed that all she gets what she wished for and that I continue to ensure that she always stays true to who she is and of course healthy.

So to my sweet love, Happy 6th Birthday and know that you are loved and I am always here for you. You are truly special and will always be my sweet little pea and I love you. For you all out there wish you love!!

Peace

EASY DOES IT

So my kids were playing the other day with their new mini drone. My son was trying to control the remote and the first couple of times the drone would just fall fast to the ground. So my soon to be 6 year old daughter kept saying "easy does it".

She kept repeating it even though he flew the drone with ease and she said it to herself as well when she was playing. I paused for a second from my cooking marathon and looked at them playing and had a huge smile on my face. After that moment, I kept repeating to myself "easy does it" Monita.

How true is that. If we all took the approach of "easy does it", wouldn't life be a lot more enjoyable and less stressed. I love the expression she used and now I find myself repeating it often, daily and sometimes hourly.

My work has been really stressful this week and the weekend was busy. In order to prepare myself for the week ahead, I have to plan out my lunches, kids lunches and dinner. So I know when I am going to be super busy, I prepare a few dishes in advance and just keep it in the fridge. So yesterday was my cooking and meal prep day and when I kept repeating to myself, "easy does it" it made it so much more less stressful. I love cooking but when I have a lot of cooking to do in a short amount of time, my stress level goes up. But like my daughter, when I kept repeating it, it made cooking so much easier and more efficient and I got it all done in a shorter amount of time.

I think taking an "easy does it" attitude should be a daily mantra. It is going to be mine for sure. We can all use a little something to help us through the day, to manage our work, our relations, our lists of to do's, our emotions, stress, lifestyles etc. But if we took a "easy does it" approach, the mental energy and attention we bring to things is a more relaxed, less tensed approach and it makes whatever we are doing go by more smoothly. I feel it gives me a more slow and steady approach to everything.

Not only have I taken the "easy does it" approach to my work and personal life but I found it most beneficial as a parent. I don't rush my kids and the every day stuff has just become easier. When they come home from school and are more tired than usual or cranky, we take the "easy does it" approach and come up with a plan for the stuff they need to do like homework, bath, reading and sometimes it's a struggle but I have to remind them and myself.

It has also become useful for me when I have to meet with certain people but would rather stay at home. I have to remind myself and the emotions that come up to take it easy girl. Its okay and don't say anything that you will regret. It allows me to pause for a second and think.

So I hope that you have found this helpful and take the "easy does it" approach to anything that you are dealing with or anyone. Slow and steady and remember always as my daughter says "easy does it". Wish you love.

Peace,

Monita

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY 2018 everyone!!! Wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope that this will be great year for all of you and may all of your dreams come true.

Another year you'll. I am so excited to start the new year. I have been awake since midnight, thanks to being jet lagged and fireworks from neighbors. My kids have been up since 3:00am so excited for the new year. 2017 is behind us and I have to say that it was a great year with a lot of learning and growing. We had a great year and created so many new memories and I am certain that 2018 will even be better.

So this year I am not making any new year resolutions. I did have a chance this morning to reflect on the year behind and things that I would like to focus on this year. For me, this year is its going to be all about making subgoals and the word BIG.

I am going to dare to dream big, pray big, big gratitude, big change, big faith, brave big, grow big, learn big, believe big, big good healthy habits, exercise big, hope big. Big is not just about more of something but getting better at everything that matters to me. It's doing all the things that matter to my inner world and growth.

As a parent, I am also going to be doing everything better for my kids. They deserve the best so my focus this year will be to be the best I can be as their mom such as, listening big, big patience and big focus on their inner growth.

So I hope this year if you are making new year resolutions or some other goals for yourself, that they will all be fulfilled. The Huffington post had an article at the end of 2016 on new year resolutions that stated only 8% of people tend to keep their resolutions due to either setting to many or getting derailed due to failures. I personally never was able to keep my resolution every year of loosing 15 pounds so now I am just going to focus on creating healthy eating habits and not worry about the 15 pounds.

I also find that sometimes when the goals are too many were and very specific it can be overwhelming. My 15 pounds in 3 months weight loss goal was just not achievable since I was so focused on the numbers and time frame rather on what is more important which is eating and choosing healthier foods and exercising. It's taking a more broader smaller goal and one that I know will not stress me out and easily achievable.

For me what works is small changes. We all have a choice this new year to follow through with our goals and its sticking to that choice of making it happen. If you get derailed, which will likely happen, get back on track. There will be a voice inside your head that says, no I can't, its not worth it etc, but my challenge is not to listen to that voice and keep your focus. Keep on it. My big dare is to stick to my choices and stay on track this year.

I hope that at the end of the year when I look back, I will be able to say that yes, it was hard but I did everything I wanted to do at the start of the year. So good luck to all of us this new year and best wishes. It is going to be an awesome year and I am really to start it. Are you? Wish you love.

Peace,

Monita
