Day 90 of 2021-Fifth day of spring break

 Good Morning! Hope you all are doing well.

Its the end of month review time. Here are some thoughts that came to mind:

Day 89 of 2021- Fourth day of spring break

 Good morning friends! Another hiking day for me. How are you all doing? 

This hike is going to be really hard so I am feeling very nervous. But it is already planned so will make the most of it.

Day 87 of 2021-Second day of spring break

 How are you my friends! We are on our second day of spring break and so far its been rainy and really cool but honestly, its been so nice to just get away. 

The views have been absolutely breath taking! I still need to take pictures. We were going to go hiking today but since its raining, we decided to push it till tomorrow.

So how are you feeling? I do have a lot on my mind and decided to use the time to really reflect on what I want and to just be. I want to just be present. I also don't want to look back and remember this time as just thinking about my job or other stuff.

Going away can be so relaxing and great if you can just let go of all the other things and just be present and enjoy your time. Vacations are not unlimited and it does have an end date for most of us (unless you are retired). 

So today is really the start of my vacation and I hope to enjoy and just be present for the entire week. What are your plans? If you are also on spring break, enjoy and just be present.

Day 86 of 2021-First day of spring break

 Happy First day of spring break! We decided to go away for the week and have a long drive ahead of us. I am looking forward to going away but dreading that I also have to work next week during the break.

So true right! I am looking forward to deeply breathe fresh air and just enjoying the mountains.

Day 85 of 2021-End of Friday

I just shut down my computer and I can't tell you how happy I am. Enjoy your Friday you all!

Give love to others and most importantly to yourself. Breathe in love, peace and breathe out the stress. Let it go! The day is done and the weekend is here.

Kids are on spring break next week and we are going away. I will have to work and not quite looking forward to that. But that's okay. It is what it is right. 

So I will have my laptop with me and will still write every day.

Day 84 of 2021-Get some lunch

 Good Morning Friends! How are you all feeling? I know this is a hard question to answer. It has been so hard for me as well to answer these days.

So I noticed that there has been so much going on with the new job. The learning curve is steep and I don't have breaks. I am sure many of you have been so busy that you don't have time for lunch.

So today, I decided that no matter how busy I am, I will step away from my desk and get some lunch. I prefer eating a heavy lunch and a lighter dinner. 

No job is worth that much for you to skip your lunch. I also think how crazy it is when people schedule meetings during lunch time. I have seen meeting invites come from 11:00-12:00pm, 12:00-1:00pm, 1:00-2:00pm. I mean really. Lunch time needs to be blocked off from your calendar so you can eat. 

I am not sure why people feel the need to squeeze in lunch time meetings when you are clearly booked before and after. Sometimes it can be really urgent and that is the only time you can schedule the meeting, which is fine but when it become more regular than I wonder. I feel a lot of people don't actually think through  that.

So I have decided that I will block out my calendar to just take the time to myself, feed my kids and just sit and relax. You have to do what you need to do. Don't wait for anyone to tell you. 

No matter what line of work you are in, you need to say I am going for my lunch and will be back. Make sure you enforce it yourself. No if or buts about it.

Day 83 of 2021-I want my old job back please

 Happy Hump day you all. Couple more days to go to the end of the week. Next week is spring break so I know my kids are extremely excited. 

My thought of today is just like I can't control or change the weather, I can't change my decision for leaving my old job. 

Have you ever left a job and a week into your new job realized that you should not have quit. Well, I have been having that regret feeling the past few days. Its been hard to accept that for now, I can't go back to my old job but I can accept that this job is not going to be forever either. 

My old job was comfortable, very comfortable. I took a risk to leave it and now I am having a sense of regret. One way to deal with the feeling is to just sit with it. I need to sit with the feeling and hopefully will figure out what it is about my job new that is causing the regret. 

The why is important. If you ever regretted leaving a job, understanding and sitting with your feeling is important. Ask yourself if you can do anything about it but before you go there, sit with the uncomfortable feeling. 

Its hard to feel this way. I know we all have all kinds of regrets. I do have many in other areas of my life, but I truly regret leaving my old job. Ouch! 

I truly want my old job back!! I feel like calling my boss and asking him to please take me back. This is huge for me!! I have never felt this way and when I was at my old job, I really wanted to leave. Oh what a predicament indeed.

So where does one go from here. Well for starters, if you are in the same boat or felt the same way I do, then just be aware of what you are feeling. Allow every feeling to come up and just be with it. It can be hard and you have to really control myself from taking any action. 

Note the feeling that are coming up and see if you can understand why you are feeling this way. You may not be able to figure this out right away but that is okay. Journaling about it definitely helps as well. It may provide some insight on your feelings. 

If you can figure out the why, then you can decide what you want to do about it next. It maybe you live with the regret for now and give the new job a chance or you may take another decision. 

Don't stress over the regret. Its a feeling and a hard one to feel but I will write more about regrets later. This is more about what you can now to help you deal with it. 

So be aware, accept it, let it be, don't stress over it too much and figure out your why. Once you have your why you can go from there and decide what course of action you want to take. Don't rush through it, and really understand why you feel that regret. 

Hang in there. Things will get better.

Day 82 of 2021-Miss being a kid

 Good Morning! There are many mornings when I wake up and wished I was a kid again. I see my kids doing their distance learning and how much fun they have chatting with their friends and playing online games. I sometimes wish I could trade places with them.

They would of course love to back at school but it does not look like that will happen for the rest of this school year. So they are doing their best with online learning. 

I am also in a new job and learning the role and responsibilities virtually but there are many mornings I wish I could trade places with them!!

I love to learn and be in school. Given an opportunity, I would go back to school full time and change majors. Now that is not possible so I just have to accept that I am here now. 

However, that does not stop my from wishing to trade places with them. I like to imagine that I am in school sometimes. I loved being in school and just miss being a kid. Since I can't be a kid anymore, I can pretend to be a big kid and still have fun.

So today, I am going to act like a big kid and pretend I am in school learning. I am learning at my new job but thinking about this as being in school takes a different spin since it reminds me of my own childhood days. 

Do you ever wish to be a kid again? If so what are some things you can pretend to do today that still makes you feel like a kid? Maybe there was a game you played outside or a particular kids books that you used to read. Think about what you loved as a kid and see if you can recreate it today. 

How about giving one big smile showing all your teeth? Take a picture of you.

So today as I feel like I miss being a kid, I may just read some short kids stories and spending time with my kids makes me feel like one again!!

So go ahead and be a big kid!!!

Day 81 of 2021-Dreading Mondays

 Good Morning Friends! I have been up since 3:00am but the good thing is that I made it to the gym this morning after 2 months. Due to my injury, I could not go but boy I felt so good leaving the gym and I know that feeling will continue for a while. 

So what's on your schedule this morning. I do have a busy day and week. I am looking forward to seeing how this week flows with work and am for now optimistic that it will be better than last week. 

Mondays are just hard right? Since the pandemic started a year ago a lot of days are hard but Mondays are exceptionally harder. By Tuesday we are in the grind all the way till Friday lunch time, then everyone tries to wrap things up for the weekend.

I always struggled with Mondays and still do. I then thought to myself, how can I better welcome Mondays. It seems like once the day is over, I pretty much am in the swing with work and home stuff. It is the time between Sunday evening to Monday late afternoon that I truly don't like. 

There seems to be so much resistance to starting the work week and it just causes so much unnecessary stress. I know that Monday will come no matter what and so will Friday. So instead of resisting it, I might be better of thinking well lets do Monday well so I can enjoy Friday better. 

You see if you go in with the mindset of oh gosh here we go again, then you will carry that to the other days as well. However, on a Sunday evening, if you say well, it may not feel that great to start the week but I must give it my all so I can look forward to a relaxing weekend. 

If you are working, most of how you feel has to do with how you generally feel about your job. If you are truly following your passion and love what you do, then it does not matter what day of the week it is. You may actually welcome Mondays with a huge smile cause you love what you do. 

I also know that not many of us feel that way about our jobs and perhaps think about it as getting through to get a paycheck. So when Sunday evening rolls around, you get that dreaded feeling. The intention is not to get rid of the feeling, but to be aware of it. 

Pay attention to the feeling and see if you can figure out why you feel that way. For me, because I was so overwhelmed last week, I am still carrying around that load. Letting go and looking at it as a fresh way to start your day changes your thinking. Last week was last week and today is a brand new week.

Changing your perspective can really help you deal with the upcoming week. This morning I said to myself, you've got this!!

It is a new day, a new week and a new moment every single time. We all just have to keep that in mind.

Day 80 of of 2021-Sunday Funday

 Happy Sunday!!! Make this Sunday and every Sunday a fun day. It is a day to relax, reflect and recharge. Create your own motto on how you would like to achieve it. 

For me, Sunday is a day for family and myself. I don't like to have other obligations scheduled on this day unless I absolutely have to. 

I know a lot of times, since it is the weekend we tend to want to schedule a lot since that is the only time we get. I challenge you to take a different approach and use this day to schedule fewer obligations to others and only for yourself and family.

Sundays can be hard and hectic but only if we make it. We can re prioritize a lot of the other obligations throughout the week and just use Sunday for you.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, it hopefully makes it easier to spend more time outdoors and just soak in the sun and warmth. Do it for you!

So Sunday is Funday and I hope that you make the most of it.

Day 79 of 2021-First week on the job

Happy Saturday!!! I am so glad that it is Saturday! Boy, have I been waiting till the weekend. Got through my first week at work. It was very overwhelming and I worked long hours. 

If I would rate my first week, with 10 being great, happy to be on the new job, I would give it a 3. For the first week, it was way too much and honestly at one point I thought if it stayed this way I would not survive this job. 

However, it was also a time where all the major deliverables were due since there is a meeting with senior leadership next week. I am just not sure if this is normal or because of the meeting next week. A co worker said that it was pretty normal every week which makes me wonder. 

At my old job, there was always periods of ups and downs so I joined at a time where there is just so much going on. So the question is how to continue with a positive mindset. 

If any of you have been at a new job, you know how stressful the first week can be. No matter what you have to just soldier on. Its hard, stressful, lots to learn and to get to meet everyone. 

I just have to hang in there. It was my choice to leave my other job and go for this one so now I have the responsibility to see this through. I also need to be mindful of the expectations since work and home balance is extremely important to me. 

If it is really all work and long, long hours then I may need to to evaluate down the road. For now, its keeping a positive mindset and hoping that next week will be better than this one. 

Part of it is also realizing that everything is new and its much harder trying to start a new job when you are virtual. Being in person would have been a lot easier but it is the way now so I just need to get comfortable while I am going through a bit of discomfort. 

Mindset is so important whenever you do anything and that includes starting a new job as well. So if you are also in the same boat as I am, keep in mind that things will get better and easier with time. Once you get familiar with everything that is going on, you will realize that its not that bad. 

Managing your stress when starting a new job is also so important along with self care. Take time to fit in frequent breaks throughout the day and step away from your desk to eat lunch. If the weather is nice, sit outside or go for a walk. Taking frequent breaks will help your mind reset and give you a chance to focus on your breathe. 

Taking your time to learn your new responsibilities is so crucial. I know that your manager will probably want you to get up to speed as quickly as possible, but taking the time and really understanding the work you have to do will benefit you not just now but also down the road. Having patience and not being afraid of asking the questions will help you get through the initial period. 

Listen more and write notes as much as you can. For me I tend to learn better by actually doing it. So know what your learning style is and follow that. Maybe you like to watch others first to absorb the information so just go along with what works for you. 

Do the best you can and believe that you will get through the hump of starting a new job. It can be challenging but it will be okay. Sending you loads to good luck your way.  I believe in you!

Day 78 of 2021-Specials today

 What are the specials on the menu today for YOU? 

I wrote about the importance of self care and how important it is to make yourself a priority. 

One of the ways I make self care a priority is to ask what's on my menu specials that I can pick from. I recommend making a list of all the ways that you care for yourself or things that give you joy. This is for you only. 

Given how busy we are these days its easy to forget about you. When you make a list, stick it where it will be easily visible or you. 

The goal is to look at the list and do at least one, if not more, self care activities. Even sitting on the couch and relaxing on the couch can be on the list. Sometimes, I do that just to unwind. 

Recreating the list daily also keeps things fun. You can get a "today specials for me" board or create your own and write different ways to care for yourself daily. 

No matter what you decide to do, just make self care a priority for you. Think about it as a gift to yourself. You need and deserve it. Its giving yourself love.

Day 76 of 2021-William Shakespeare quote

 William Shakespeare once said "Happy Wednesday! love all, trust a few do wrong to none."

So your reminder for today is exactly that. Choose love even if it is hard and do your best to treat the other the way you would like to be treated. 

Sometimes choosing love can be hard especially if you have been betrayed, hurt and had the feeling of not being seen. In such situations, yes its easy to just turn away from love but with time, communication, setting boundaries and feeling your emotions, you can and will move on. 

With all the hardships that we have been through especially this past year, I have seen so much more love and trust and doing the right thing from many people. Nurses, doctors and critical personnel have certainly demonstrated what that looks like. If you ever need motivation, just read all the brave stories of the sacrifices that healthcare works and others have done for the rest of us. 

We all can return that love and trust and do kind things for others as well. There is no need to wait for a special occasion to show your love. Think about how you can contribute to the others as well. 

To me asking a stranger how they are doing, paying for someone's meal, helping someone and just saying thank you are such great ways to show love. 

Trust a few is just a good way to live your life. There is no way you can trust everyone with your deep personal stories. The people who you can trust and usually the ones who are there for you not just in good times, but especially in the not good times, the ones you get you a tissue box, make you a meal or just show up at your home to give you a hug and listen to you. 

Think about how you can" love all, trust a few and do no wrong" not just today but everyday.

Day 75 of 2021-Mid March review

 Hello Friends! Was just watching the news and totally shocked at the amount of snow the Colorado region received something like over 2 feet already and more snow on the way. March always surprises us with the weather and there has been some major snowstorms this month. Hang in there and know that spring is right around the corner.

I was going to write about mid month review yesterday since it was technically mid month but wanted to also write about my new job. So here we are already mid March.

Spring and spring break is almost here and certainly that's very exciting. I am looking forward to the break so I can get some relaxing time away. But for today, its time to just sit back and review the month so far. Some things to think about:

How is the month going?

How have you been feeling? I know this one is so hard to answer these days.

What are some of your top priorities this month?

How can you make self care a priority?

Mid month reviews are just a quick way to take a step back and focus on you and your goals. Maybe you are doing too much and not giving yourself enough time to relax. Take a look at your priorities and see if you can eliminate or move your list around so you can free up sometime for yourself. 

I know a lot of us moms have just been going and going. We are burned out, exhausted and not feeling like ourselves. If you don't prioritize yourself, you are risking your health, physical and mental. 

Another area to look at is how you would like to end the month. Think about the next 2 weeks and list some ways to focus on you. Try to add in self care every single day like taking a walk, exercising, taking an afternoon nap on the weekends or even a nice relaxing bath. 

Find ways to just care for you. Your body will thank you for it and your mind will get a chance to refresh. There are so many ways to care for ourselves, if only we make it a priority. So focus on you.

Day 74 of 2021- First day of my new job

Happy Monday you all!! 

I read this quote from Felicia Day that stated: "Every single job is a challenge. You are walking into a new set, a new character, creating a world and trying to get comfortable to do your best work."

Its a new challenge all right and a very hard one. I have never started a job working virtually and that makes it so much more harder. But it is a new world that we currently living in and I need to just try and get comfortable. 

We can only do the best that we can every day. One foot forward at a time. I am already feeling the stress and overwhelmed with all the catching up that I am going to need to do but I know that once I get into it, I will hopefully just get used to the new work load. 

So my minute or less read thoughts of the day are really get shorter but there is just so much going on and I really don't want to miss sharing my thoughts for the day. Hopefully it will help you as well. Always remember that though you may feel alone, you are not alone. 

I know that there are many of you out there who also started a new job recently or are going to. Its a new stage for you and just do the best that you can. In a few months, you will look back at this experience with pride on how you overcame the hard times. You can do this! 

Now, I need to get to work.

Day 73 of 2021-New job tomorrow

 So my priorities for today are rest, relax, go for a walk and just chill. I start my new job tomorrow and am a little nervous but I know and believe that things will go fine, in fact better than fine. 

Its a new chapter in my life and one where I will have to proof my work all over again. I was in my last job for only a 1.6 years, short compared to my prior 15 years in one company. But I heard a lot of people move jobs within a couple of years. Some get really comfortable and stay, other truly just love their job, while others want to move cause they just can't stand it anymore, family reasons, or get a better offer. 

So many reasons people move, but I switched jobs cause I really did not enjoy it. There were many other benefits though that I had if I stayed at my old job. It was close to home, I could do other things and had the flexibility to leave early when I needed to. 

But here we are. The day before I start at my new job. So it will be interesting to see how things go. I am going to try to get a good nights rest and take some deep breathes. Is it really such a big deal? If I put all my awareness it the answer is no, so I realize that I am thinking more about this than I should. 

If you are in a similar situation, watch your thoughts. Don't get carried away and keep remining yourself that you will be fine no matter what. 

Your mindset in anything is so crucial. Keep the what if's out of your mind and talk yourself out of it if you mind gets spiraling with negativity. 

Most importantly though is to be fully present in the newness of a job or anything for that matter. Its going to be exciting and you will learn from this experience too. In a month or 2 from now you will look back and think, its really not a big deal. 

So I know that I need to just take it easy and enjoy and relax today. Tomorrow will come and I will say bring it on.

Yep that is that the way I am feeling. Not doing good at all. So I said to my family that I really can't do much today and that is okay. 

It was my fault for overeating and staying out late last night so paying the price today. I deserve it and take full responsibility. 

Tomorrow will be a better day. I know.

Day 71 of 2021-My last day at my current job

 Happy Friday!!! Today is my last day at my current job. So excited. I have so much to do in such a short time. My post will be very short today. 

Dr. Seuss once said "Don't cry because it over. SMILE because it happened!"

That's so true everyday in life. As I walk away from this job and enjoy the weekend, I look forward to my new journey at a new workplace. I am excited, happy and nervous at the same time. 

Today I will let go of all the experiences I don't want to remember and only take way all the skills I learned. Its all about the lessons learned in life. 

I do not hate my job, but I also did not love it. I have mixed feeling about it but am ready to move on. 

The next career chapter has opened as I close this one behind. We all need to remember that in our lives, doors are continuously closing and opening for us. 

So off I go the next section of my professional life.

Day 70 of 2021-Self care today

 What a lovely morning! Happy Thursday you all! So what's happening? Did you get a chance to step outside yesterday? Hope you took in the cool air. Its so refreshing and helps to clear your mind. 

What are some of the self care things that you can do today for yourself? Maybe take a walk, a nap, take a bath, meditate, journal or exercise? What are some of the things that you can do for you today?

Self care is so important and sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. Keep reminding yourself that you need to care for you. If you don't you won't have much to give others.

So today, the focus is just on self care as it should be everyday. You are the number one priority everyday and never forget that. Every else can wait but you need to do you. You are the top priority in your life. 

Look at all the goodness that you are and give yourself a pat on the back.  You are worthy and loved. You will get this through this. You've got this!

Day 69 of 2021-Cool air

 Good Morning! How are you doing today? Couple more weeks till spring and I am super excited. Its going to be another gorgeous day where I am and honestly I can't wait to get out for my walk. 

I have the kitchen door open and it feels so good to breathe in fresh cool air. When I went for my walk yesterday, I took several deep breathes and boy did that feel good. I felt so refreshed and energized right away and slept like a baby last night. 

So how are things with you? What's on your plate today? Remember, if it is not urgent, move your to do's to another day. Go outside and get some fresh air. 

Today I want you to try and focus on getting fresh air and being outside as much as you can. Now, depending on the weather where you are, that may limit your time outside but still open the door and just take deep breathes every hour if you can.

If the weather is nice, try to stay outdoors. I have taken my laptop and sat outdoors to work and it feels so good. Try working outside for a change if you can and see what a difference it makes. 

Find a way to just take in the fresh air whenever possible. Notice how it makes you feel. Being in nature for me is so therapeutic and you will like it too.  I love the outdoors (though not in the winter) and try to get out as much as I can.

So friends, smile, get outside and remember deep breathes always. Know that I am thinking and rooting for you. Time for me to get to my meetings for today but hang in there. You've got this!

Day 68 of 2021-Your to do's

 Good Morning! How are you all feeling today? Another beautiful sunny day where I am so really looking forward to getting my walk in during lunch.

Here are your questions for pondering this morning:

What's on your plate today? 

List everything you need to do today on a paper and prioritize it. 

Delete the to do's that can wait till tomorrow or later this week.

This is such an important exercise to do in the mornings. A lot of times we just wake up and go about our day and try to get everything done or as much done as we possibly can fit in. We go to bed exhausted and wake up the next morning repeating the whole thing.

Balancing the swing is so critical. None of us can keep going up and down constantly. Of course there are critical things that have to be done, work related or personal related. This isn't about slacking or pushing things off and being lazy. Its about balancing your day and not adding more than you can manage. 

Take a look at your list and see if you can shift things around. Maybe your thinking about organizing your pantry, or re arranging your closet and getting your spring clothes out or any other to do's and feel like you have to get to it today. Take a moment and instead of pushing yourself to get it done, create a timetable for when you can get those things done at a later date. Can you move it to the later in the week or on the weekend?

Get the top things on your list done, the ones that can't be absolutely moved and find sometime to enjoy the weather wherever you are or if you can't do anything outdoors, take the time to just be or be with a loved one. 

Balance your swing today and try to do this everyday of the week. Remember no matter what you've got this.

Day 67 of 2021-Choose Positivity

 Happy Monday Morning! Its a beautiful sunny morning and the weather is going to be nice this week. So I am really looking forward to my walks this week. Here are some thoughts that came to my mind for this morning.

How are you feeling this morning? 

Did you have a good weekend? 

Are you feeling well rested to take on the week? If not, what can you do today to ensure you have a good nights rest?

I am feeling good overall and slept really well. This is my last week at my current job and sure enough my manager is really using the opportunity to maximize my time left. He is thinking of all the things that he can get me to do before leaving. I understand that there is a lot to get done but it almost feels like he is trying to find new projects while I am here for the last 5 days. 

So no matter what is going on, I have made the decision to remain positive. I am not going to let anyone shape my mind or influence how I would like to feel. That would be giving them too much power. So as difficult as my manager wants to be, I am going to just smile and get things done. After all, I certainly don't want to break bridges and want to leave on really good terms. 

Everyday, we all have a choice. We can choose to remain positive and see the brighter side of things or remain negative. You can very easily get down and curse away and let that influence your day or you can say, this is hard but I am up to the challenge and will get it done. What one are you going to choose?

Remember how ever you choose will shape your mindset. Don't let anyone decide how you want to feel. Things are really hard now but we have come this far. We have been through a lot and we have persevered.  Don't forget that.

I choose to remain positive and keep remining myself that this day will end. I will do my very best at work and choose to smile all the way. Yes, coming up with stuff to do while I am trying to transition is not ideal but it is what it is. I choose to remain positive no matter what and I realize that before I know it, it will be Friday. 

So keep smiling, head up and choose to remain positive no matter what you have going on.

Day 65 of 2021-Goals on Weekend

 Happy Saturday Morning! Hope you all are enjoying the weekend. How are you feeling today?

So I woke up this morning thinking since its Saturday and we are going to a friends place tonight, I am going to allow myself to have my daughters leftover bagel. Then I found myself thinking what else can I can eat this morning almost feeling like its a day off from my goal of eating healthy. 

Now there's nothing wrong with having a day off except I also took yesterday off. So here I was thinking well its Saturday and since I am going to eat a lot tonight I might as well go all out for breakfast and lunch and then it hit me... I was like whoa.....stop right there girlfriend. Just because its the weekend and we are going to meet friends tonight, it does not mean I do and eat as I please. 

Given its the weekend, there is no excuse for me to not stick to my goals. I set the intention back in January to eat healthy(less carbs and sugar) so even if it is Saturday and we are going out, I need to stick to my intentions. 

My mind was thinking you are going to eat tonight so its okay to just go all out. That's where I had to put the brakes on my mind and take a step back and say no, I know I am going out but I really don't want to go all out during the day as well. I need to keep the control and I did. I only had 2 small bits of my daughters left over bagel and threw the rest in the trash. 

Friends, don't let the weekend serve as an excuse to not hit and stick to your goals. I am all for taking the day off and eating a more regular meal but be careful that the day off does not become more than just that day. I actually cheated a lot this week and ate more carbs than I should have but I am not going to let that become the new way. It only takes a day and I can easily fall back to my old ways.

If you worked hard to hit your resolutions, don't undo it and say now that's its the weekend, I am just going to eat anything that I want. Stick to your goals, even if it is the weekend. Find alternate ways and motivation to stick to your goals no matter what. 

So do your best even on the weekends. Take a day off if you need to but get right back to your plan and goals the next day. So my plan for today is to have a green smoothie and then no food till dinner.

Control my friends! You've got this. Enjoy the weekend but remember your goals and resolutions.

Day 64 of 2021-Execution

 Happy Friday my friends! How are you all feeling on this Friday? I am just glad that the weekend is here and its only a couple of weeks away from spring!!! So exciting.

Execution is a noun. The Cambridge dictionary defines execution as "the act of doing something especially in a planned way."

I like to think of execution as when you stop talking and start working. When it comes to achieving anything in life execution is the action you take to get to where you want to be. 

Anyone can talk all they want about what they like to do, but its when you execute that you start seeing the results. Nothing happens on its own with the action. When you think back to your resolutions and goals, you will not achieve success till you actually take the actionable steps.

In anything in life, if you want it badly, you need to execute it. If you want a new job, you need to update your resume and apply for the job, if you want to loose weight, you need to exercise and eat healthier, if you want to run a marathon, you need train.. you get the idea.

You must put a plan in place and then follow through by actually doing it. Sometimes, we think and plan a lot and then we start taking the actions but never fully executing them all the way through. I find to be more applicable to things like new year resolutions. So many of us plan and plan and start but never fully see it through.

When I think about execution, I think not just doing it but seeing it through all the way to the end or to the point where you are satisfied. 

So today's question is what are some of the areas in your life where you need to start executing? What can you do now to create the plan to execute?

Life is so short and if you want to achieve results, execution is the thing that you need to focus on and do.

So to achieve, execute.

Day 63 of 2021-Shine Some Sun

 Good morning! So glad its Thursday. How are you all feeling this morning? I had a great nights rest and boy does that make such a huge difference. I woke up feeling so refreshed and in a much better mood. I did take my walk yesterday so that made such a huge difference. I love being outdoors and find nature to be very healing.

Its a beautiful sunny day today and I thought wouldn't it be nice to be shine some sun on someone else. Another words, what can you do today to brighten up someone else's day?

I always like to take sometime to take care of myself first in the morning. Do my normal morning routine and make sure that I am set to start the day. Some days are a lot easier to do that especially when I have had a good nights rest. So today I am going to send a text to a friend whom I have not spoken to in a while and see if we can talk. I am going to brighten her day. 

Always make sure that you care for yourself first and fill up your cup. You need to be your own sunshine every morning. Do your morning routine, and just take sometime to just be. You always feel more fulfilled when you give to others so spend the day thinking about how you can be that sun to someone else.

Maybe its the cashier at the grocery store, calling an old friend, sending a lovely text message to someone letting them know you are thinking about them, spending the afternoon with your kids running around or saying hi to a stranger. There are so many ways that you can brighten someone's day so find something. It does not have to be big, even a small gesture will be good. 

When you think about resolutions or goals for yourself, think about how you can include giving more to others as well. Its such a great way to make someone's day and will also make you feel good. 

Well, I hope you be remember that you are your own sunshine and shine some sun on others as well. Smile and know that no matter what you are going through, you've got it.

Day 62 of 2021-Maybe

 Good Morning! How are you feeling this morning? The weather is going to be really nice today so I am planning on going for my walk.

So how are things coming along? Life is hard and now more than ever due to the pandemic. How is your mood today? 

I was grouchy yesterday but managed to talk myself out of it throughout the day. It was not easy since there was a battle in my mind in regards to the decision I made on leaving my job. Maybe its right and maybe it won't be right.. either way I need to live with it and move on. 

My eating habits were totally out of order yesterday. I ate a lot more carbs and sugar. Its interesting how we can easily fall out of our patterns by just a little shift in the mood. Well, at least I do. Maybe I really need keep an eye on my moods. 

I have been using the word maybe a lot. Maybe I will be fine if I just eat some rice, maybe I will not eat dessert today. Maybe just refers to possibilities. I keep telling my kids to try something new and that maybe they will enjoy it.

Maybe makes me feel more open and less overwhelmed somehow. Depending on the context, it can also make you feel more overwhelmed. I try to use it more when I am exploring new things.. like maybe I will try a different route today for walking, or maybe I will talk to my managers about the new opportunity. It's not a 100% commitment but a chance that I might. 

When I am stressed, I use maybe a lot. It does not make me feel like I have to but maybe I might do it. I also use it for things that are not critical. For the things we all have to do, its has to get done. But there are so many maybe's in life. 

Maybe I should get to work and wrap this up. I will make a decision to watch my maybes. Is there a word you find yourself using more often these days? See if you make a note as to how many times you say it.

Day 61 of 2021-Grouchy

 Good Afternoon my Friends! How are you all doing? How is the day going so far? So are you feeling grumpy or happy?

I was feeling grumpy this morning. I decided to take a new job and now I am not so sure if I made the right decision. I keep going back and forth but the decision has been made. I had been feeling grumpy this morning but now feeling happy. Its so hard....

Since I know now that I have no choice but to move forward, there is no point in staying grumpy. I have to find a way to continue to move on and leave my current job behind. I am questioning my decision, which is very normal, but I also know that there is nothing I can do about it. 

So if you are feeling grumpy, find out what's bothering you. What are you thinking about that is causing you to feel grumpy? Can you change your thoughts so you can change your mood (grumpiness)? 

There is no point in remaining grumpy. Figure out what it is and move on from there. Go take a walk or talk to someone and get it off your chest. We all can swing from one feeling to the next. 

I read a quote this morning from Pinterest that said "If you are grouchy, irritable or just plain mean, there will be a $10 charge for putting up with you."

I thought how perfect. I should pay my kids $10 every time I am grouchy. They don't need to put up with me and should not have too. I just need to get out of my grouchy mood and move on!!

So take a deep breathe and get out of your grouchy mood!!

Day 60 of 2021-March

 Good Monday Morning! Its still early so grab the coffee and breakfast, get kids ready for school and yourself for work and mentally prepare yourself to have a good day and week. 

This is the beginning of March so start the month and day with some positive affirmations. Think positively and speak kindly to yourself. Spring will be here in a few weeks so hopefully that will help to cheer you up. There is always something good to look forward to. 

It cheers me up just to think that Spring is around the corner. I am so happy and really look forward to some nicer weather and being able to take long walks. 

What I love about the start of the month is that I get to revisit my goals and resolutions and its a chance to reset. The past year has been really hard, but I am optimistic that things will turn around for the better. They already are so we just need to keep practicing patience.

So as we begin the month, here are some questions that I want you to think about:

  1. What are some of things that you would like to achieve this month? 
  2. How did the reflection from last month help you? What worked and what areas do you need to tweak?
  3. Where are you with your goals and resolutions? Do you need to change anything?
  4. What are some goals for this month?

Setting your intentions for the month will provide you with some direction. You can't control anything on the outside that is happening or that will come up. You can control how you think and take small steps towards having a good month. 

Think about how you really would like to not only show up daily but also for the weeks and months ahead. I like to think in small goals, small steps and slow but steady improvements. 

As you think about the month ahead, it would help to think how you would like to end the month and work backwards to lay out your plans to achieve your goals. I like to use my calendar to list the things that I need to work on not just daily but also for the month. 

As I look ahead to this month, I am thinking about how I can continue to improve my eating habits. The question on my mind is what are some of the changes that I can create when I am at home to visiting friends? Having that planned out in advance will help me stick to my goals of eating healthier. What about you?

Once you have the goals for the month, think about how you can hold yourself accountable to achieving them. Maybe even get a friend, your partner or anyone else whom you trust so they can also hold you accountable. 

Friends, create the day and month for your self, meaning set your intentions on what you would like to accomplish and follow through. You've got this time so use it and believe that you've got this!
