Day 273 of 2021-Month end reflection

 Good Friday! Don't forget its month end so its time for the end of September review and October start. Its a good time to write down and reflect how September went for you, your goals, things you are grateful for and overall well-being. 

I always like to remember to not just think about all the goals that I accomplished but also reflect on how I felt and some of the areas that I need to continue to learn both personally and at my job.

Use the time for reflection and also think ahead about what you would like October to look like.

Day 272 of 2021-Happy National Coffee Day

 Happy Hump day! We made it to mid week. Did you know today is national coffee day?

Now, I am not a regular coffee drinker but it is fuel for a lot of us who are up so early in the morning. So I decided that I am going to have a cup of coffee today.

For coffee drinkers out there, I am sure you will be enjoying your coffee today but for those of you who are not coffee drinkers try to have a cup today if you can.

Sometimes a lot of us did something and then we move on to something else. I was a very regular coffee drinker over 15 years ago and then it just did not suit me anymore. Now I occasionally have a cup but can't do coffee everyday. 

What about you? How long have you drank coffee? How about trying a new brand or a new flavor today? Do something different rather then your usual cup of coffee. 

So friends, relax, take it easy and enjoy your cup of coffee(or tea) today.

Day 271 of 2021- Tired day

 Happy Tuesday. Have you ever had one of those blah days. I usually feel that way when I have not had enough sleep. 

I was so tired this morning and did not feel like waking up but did and went to the gym. It felt great during and after but I am ready for a nap. 

What do you do when you have that blah feeling? You know when you just don't feel like doing anything or talking to anyone. I find it is important to know what's causing the feeling and then try to see if you can do anything about it. What are some of the things that you do?

For me, its the lack of sleep so I know that once I am caught up on my sleep, I will be feeling a lot more better and joyful. 

So over the next few days, I have to get all caught up and then notice how I feel.

Day 269 of 2021- Chill and Relax

 Good early Sunday morning! I was up super early and did not get much sleep last night. That's okay though since its Sunday and my hope is that I will get to bed early tonight. 

I hope you use today to relax and just be. Take sometime to chill on the sofa if you can even just for a a few minutes. My mind is really tired so I know that I will not be doing much of anything today.

So for you something to think about today, make it a not much of anything kind of day. Chilling and relaxing.

Remember that you need this, you are loved and are worthy of downtime.

Day 268 of 2021-Up early on Saturday

 Good Early Saturday morning! I have been up super early today and have a long day ahead of me. 

I read this from Alan Cohen who said "There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither."

You work so hard all week and so today, use it to rest. We all need our downtimes so make sure that you get yours. I will likely get mine tomorrow but will make sure to build in the time to rest.

Day 266 of 2021-Learn not Loose

 Happy Thursday you all! John Maxwell said "Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn". 

I love that and its a great reminder that its not about loosing but the lesson that we learn. You have to learn when you don't win and it will certainly help you get closer the next time you try. 

This really can be applied to our everyday lives. There are many times when we don't win, don't get what we want or things that don't work out the way we expected it to. It all leads to the question of what can I learn from this?

So for your something to think about today how you can learn from just the everyday things that happen? Reflect and write on it.

Day 265 of 2021-A relaxing evening

 Happy Hump Day! We made it through mid week. How is the weather where you are? Its raining here where I am and boy do I love the rain. Its a great day to sit on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate. 

Today for your something to think about, how can you relax this evening with your favorite cup of whatever drink you like. Maybe the weather is nice so taking a walk will be a great idea. The goal is to think about having a relaxing weekday and thinking about how you are going to spend the weekend.

Find a way to relax and have a good evening. Maybe even cook a nice meal for yourself.

Day 264 of 2021-Have a good evening

 Where has the day gone. Hope you all had a great day. A lot of times when are stressed and overworked from a long day of work, its easy to just reach something unhealthy for food or snack.

I found myself doing just that. It has been a long day and I have been eating all the wrong things. So I do notice what I am doing and now that I am aware, I will be careful to not eat unhealthy snacks.

So be careful if you are stressed and become more aware of your eating habits. Pay attention and decide if it is helpful for you. 

Take it easy and have a restful night.

 Good Morning! I was out on my early morning walk today and just kept looking up at the sky. It was so beautiful to see the sunrise. 

If you are awake early  and it is daytime where you are, spend sometime looking at the sunrise. If it is night, see the stars. It helps to realize that this world we live in is so expansive and beautiful and does help to change our perspective.

 Hello! Hope you are having a fantastic Tuesday so far. So yesterday in my post I wrote about some strength words and in it I stated to work on yourself. 

To further clarify, think about something new that you enjoy or love to learn and keep learning. You can also work on your health, building new connections or strengthening existing ones. Keep working on yourself is so personal and expansive. It does mean a whole range of things that you can work on for you. 

It includes all areas of your life and it is something that you need to be aware of and reflect on. We are always doing a lot for others but the focus has to shift to yourself.

Keep an area and think about how you can improve or start on.

 We are almost to the end of the week friends. How was your week? I know its a short one and boy did the week go by fast.

So for your something to ponder about today, spend sometime thinking about how you can end the week on a positive note. If you have had a great week, think about how you can enlighten someone else's day. It could be a family member, friend or even smiling at a stranger.

 Happy Labor day! We all have so much to be grateful for this labor day weekend. We are at a different place compared to a year ago and I know a lot of us have had a chance to get away this summer and away from zoom calls.

Day 247 of 2021- Try a new food

 Hello Friends! Hope you are enjoying the long weekend. For your something to think about this weekend, how about trying a new type of food? If you are away, that may be easier to do.

How about even something as simple as trying a new topping for your sandwich or asking a friend or family member to try something new. I know a lot of people resist and can eat the same thing everyday but try to switch it up and see if you like it. 

I consider myself a foodie and love to try new things but I also know a lot of people who prefer to eat the same and not try. I always suggest making one small change. It can also be trying a new ice cream flavor or a new topping. 

There are many ways to just a new food so if you are up to it, try something new this weekend. See if you like it and even if you don't give yourself a high five for even trying!

Day 245 of 2021-Almost to the 3 day weekend

 Happy Thursday! Almost to your long weekend. I hope that you are able to wrap up most of the important things today so you can start to wind down and think about the weekend. 

For your something to ponder over today, think about how you can use this final summer long weekend to enjoy and be present as much as you can. Really soak in every moment. Labor day usually marks the end of summer so for me, I don't like the idea of summer ending but I will make the most of it and not let the last few days of summer bring me down.

So if you have no plans, think about how you can just relax while doing nothing. Maybe its catching up on your favorite shows or barbequing. Either way really use the 3 day weekend.

Day 244 of 2021- Happy September

 Wow its September already!!! Where has the year gone. I always say that every year since time does go by fast. 

So what are your goals for this month? Any carry forward goals from last month that you would like to see happen this month?

Take sometime to reflect on how and what you need for yourself this month. Is it more self care, being more gentle on yourself or spending more time with family? Maybe its broader and deeper like thinking about your job or hard conversations that need to happen. 

We have a choice to keep putting it off or to face it. You can certainly ignore it but all things not tended to will eventually surface. You will at some point need to deal with the hard stuff.

I know that I am still struggling with my job and dealing with difficult personalities. I have, for now, decided to stay at least till the end of the year. It is hard but the grass is not always greener on the other side. So I know that it is something that I have on my mind and I do spend time reflecting on how I can handle my stress better when dealing with difficult personalities. 

Spending time to reflect on your goals at the start of the month will help you plan. A lot of times we don't think about spending time on ourselves. Make yourself a priority this month.

Friends, reflect and act this month. Don't give up on your goals!
