Day 243 of 2026- My Sunday Ritual of Slow Morning Coffee

 Hi Friends,

Do you have a particular ritual you follow on Sundays? For me, it's sipping my morning coffee really slowly. On weekdays, I usually rush through my hot coffee and don't enjoy slow sips because I have to get to the gym and get school lunches ready. As much as I try to enjoy it, most of the time, it becomes a rush.

On Sundays, everything changes. I wake up without that familiar sense of hurry, and the first thing I do is make my coffee. Not the quick kind I gulp down at the counter while packing sandwiches, but a proper cup, brewed slowly and poured into my favorite mug.

I like to sit in the same spot every time, near the window where the early light comes in. There is something comforting about repeating the same small steps. The kettle, the smell of fresh grounds, the first warm sip. It tells my body that the pace of the week is officially different.

What surprises me is how much I notice when I slow down. The flavor is richer than I remember. The mug feels warm in my hands. The house is quiet, and for a few minutes nobody needs anything from me. During the week, my coffee often goes cold because I have been pulled in five directions. On Sunday, I finish every drop while it is still hot.

I have come to believe a ritual doesn't need to be big to matter. It is not about doing something impressive. It is about choosing one small moment and giving it your full attention. That single cup of coffee sets the tone for the rest of the day, and I carry that calm with me into the afternoon.

It also gives me a gentle reminder that I don't have to wait for the weekend to slow down. Some weekday mornings, I try to take just three slow sips before the rush begins. It is not the same as Sunday, but it helps.

If you do not have a ritual yet, start small. It could be a walk, a favorite breakfast, a phone call to someone you love, or a few quiet pages of a book. Choose something that makes you feel like yourself, and protect it.

What about you? What is your favorite Sunday ritual?

Wishing you peace and happiness from my heart to yours!

Peace

Monita
