Day 287 of 2026
Hi Friends,
As I was out and about this weekend, it was so nice to see a couple of schools and their students out for homecoming. They were all so dressed up and having a good time, taking pictures, laughing, and hanging out with friends.
It made me smile. There is a particular kind of energy when a group of teenagers gets ready for a night like that. The careful outfits, the corsages, the friends lining up for one more photo, and the laughter that seems to carry halfway down the street. For a few hours, nothing else mattered to them but the moment they were in.
My wish for all of you teenagers in high school is that you never lose that sense of wonder and just being you. Here are a few things I hope you hold on to.
Take more pictures, and remember to look back at them later. You may groan at them now, but those photos become treasures. Years from now, you will laugh at the hairstyles and remember exactly who was standing next to you.
Check in on your friends. Not everyone who is smiling in the picture is having an easy week. A quick message asking how someone is doing can mean more than you realize.
Dance, even if you are not good at it. Nobody is keeping score, and the people who dance badly usually have the most fun.
And just live your life. School, grades, and plans for the future matter, but so do the nights you will remember long after the tests are forgotten. Leave room for both.
Have a happy, bright week ahead.
Wishing you peace and happiness from my heart to yours!
Peace
Monita
