Day 294 of 2026
Hi Friends,
Last night, I didn’t get much sleep. It was one of those nights when you know morning is getting closer, but you’re still waiting for proper rest to arrive.
Somehow, I woke up on time.
That surprised me. I had expected to oversleep or spend a good while negotiating with my alarm. Instead, I got up, got dressed, and made it to the gym. Given how tired I felt, just getting through the door felt like an accomplishment.
My energy, however, hadn’t quite caught up with me.
I started some slow cardio, hoping that moving would help me feel more awake. But there was no sudden burst of motivation. My body felt heavy, and the minutes seemed to pass more slowly than usual. Twenty minutes in, I decided I’d had enough.
I walked out.
For a moment, I felt a little disappointed. I had made the effort to get there, so part of me thought I should have stayed longer. Ending a workout early can make you question whether it counted at all.
Then I stepped outside.
The air was cool, but bearable—the kind of cool that feels refreshing against your face. The morning light was just beginning to break through, gently brightening the street. Everything seemed softer in that early light.
And it was so quiet.
Without the usual traffic and movement, I could actually appreciate the streets around me. I slowed down for a moment and took it in. After focusing so much on how tired I was and how little I had done, it felt good to notice something outside my own head.
I had gone to the gym hoping to feel better. I hadn’t expected the nicest part of the morning to happen just after I left.
That small moment stayed with me because it reminded me how quickly I judge an experience by what I accomplish. A longer workout would have felt more productive. But those twenty minutes were what I had available, and leaving gave me a chance to enjoy a morning I might otherwise have rushed through.
The takeaway for me is to pay attention to what I need before deciding what a successful morning should look like. Sometimes I have the energy to push myself. Other times, I need to ease up and make room for rest.
Today, I was tired. I moved a little, stopped when I needed to, and stepped outside into something beautiful.
I’m glad I paused long enough to notice it.
Wishing you peace and happiness from my heart to yours!
Peace
Monita
