Day 147 of 2022- A not so Happy Friday

 The news about the Texas school shootings have really got me down so I am not going to wish a happy Friday since it is not so happy. Its very sad and for those of us with kid, I know you really feel it in your heart.

Tonight, hold your loved ones close and just be with them. Give them all the hugs and kisses. Keep them close.

Day 146 of 2022- Take of early today

 As summer comes close, it is always nice to be able to leave work early and enjoy the extra daylight. Try to think about how you can start to wind things down especially starting Thursday so you can enjoy and relax on Friday afternoons or even take sometime off.

Take off early today if you can and enjoy the daylight. Go for a walk or exercise outdoors. Enjoy the next few warm months and make the most of it. 

Plan to wrap the most important things on Thursdays so you can be mostly stress free on Fridays.

Day 144 of 2022- Lunch relaxation

 Take a break for lunch today and just relax or go for a walk. We tend to work through lunch and its not good for us. Take a real break and go eat some wholesome food. Take some deep breaths and let go of your morning. 

Make it a priority to relax during your lunch time and walk away from your computer. Sit and put your feet up. Read a good book or catch up on the day's news but stop working for just the 1/2 hour or the hour.

You deserve a break!!

Day 143 of 2022- Monday mindset

 To start the week with the right mindset, its always a good idea to set some intentions. I also like thinking about positive affirmations.

What are your intentions this week? Try to list them and place them where you can see them everyday. It is always a good idea to look at them more than just once a day. 

My intentions are to take care of myself and exercise every day this week, to be patient and kind towards others, to not let others steal my peace of mind.

List a few of your own either for the week or everyday.

Day 142 of 2022- Sunday fun and prep day

 I have learned to make Sundays my fun and prep day. Every Sunday, I try to find something fun to do, especially now that the weather is warmer and I also find something to prepare for the week ahead.

Today, for fun we went out shopping with the kids to buy them new clothes and for prep, I mentally made a list of dinners and school lunches for the kids. I also most of my groceries done in the morning and to mentally prepare myself, I went for yoga.

Its always nice when you can think about what am I going to do for fun and what am I going to do for the week or day ahead. If you make it all about your errands and work, then you forget that having fun is the most important thing you can do for yourself and loved ones.

 The challenge is to always do something fun in the midst of the workweek that is not work related. Try to fit that in this week and notice if you feel any different. 

For me, this was a really fun, productive and joyful day!

Day 141 of 2022- Take a nap

 One of the best things about the weekend is that you can take a nap. You need to make time to take a nap but it is possible.

I took a 2.5 hours of nap and when I woke up, I felt tired, a little groggy but it was so worth it. I am feeling a lot more refreshed and ready to meet my friends for dinner.

Take a little time to lie down and just let you whole body relax. If you can nap, that would be even better.

 Happy Friday! You made it through the week. Give yourself a pat on the back and write down all the things that you are grateful for. 

You've worked hard all week so this evening and over the weekend, put your feet up and enjoy. Try to maximize the weekend by just relaxing. Yes, its been long and probably hard so now is the time to really put your feet up. How about ordering in or have someone do something special for you?

Day 138 of 2022- Hump Day

 Its mid week. Today I did something completely different for lunch. I was craving for some spicy Korean food so decided to take a break from work and go out. The weather was gorgeous so I went to a really good place near by and had some spicy Korean seafood soup.

Its helps to break out of your routine every now and then. If you are used to eating at your desk, try to step away and go to a restaurant to eat or try something new for lunch.

It does break up the routine and for me, I felt a lot more refreshed when I got home. So your task for this week or next is to break up your lunch routine and do something different. Note how you feel.

 Here we are, the start of another week. Take sometime to review and reflect on what you have going on this week. How can you prepare for this week? Are there tasks that you can delegate or get help with.

A lot of times, I do feel that we want to try to do everything since we are the ones that have always done it. It helps to get the help that you need so you are not carrying such a heavy weight.

Try writing some positive affirmations to get you through the week as well. For me, it is "Be flexible, be open and don't take things so seriously".

Day 130 of 2022- A picture perfect day

 Today is a picture perfect day weather wise. Its so beautiful with plenty of sun and clear skies. I feel like spring is finally here. There were quite a few days where the days were still chilly for this time of the year and it did not feel like spring.

If its really nice where you are, go out and get some fresh air. There aren't too many picture perfect days so make sure you really make the most of it when it is here.

I am for sure going out for a walk later and really looking forward to enjoying the weather. Take in some fresh out and just breathe out all the stress.

 Good Monday Morning Friends! Its a brand new week and this week will not be the same as any other week. Today will not be the same as any other day and today, this month, day and year will not return. 

Yes, what's over is over and now what we have is today. Focus on the day ahead and do your best. Its a choice to always do your best and sometimes that's hard on difficult days where you are so stressed and overwhelmed. 

But remember how you would like to end the day and week so plan accordingly. Don't ignore the hard stuff and try to keep moving forward.

 To my lovely, beautiful mom, Happy mother's day! I am so thankful for my mother and all that she is done. She is the glue in our family and has given us so much. I love you mom and no words can express the gratitude that I feel in my heart.

And to all the mom's, aunts, grandma's wishing you a very Happy Mothers' Day!!

Day 127 of 2022-Rainy day rest

 Its been raining non stop where I am for the last 2 days and will continue today. Its also a bit chilly for this time of the year, but its also a great day just to be indoors, relaxing and reading a book. 

On a rainy day where you just don't feel like doing anything, give yourself the time to just sit still and be. Wrap yourself with a blanket and a good warm drink and just give your body the rest it needs. That's what I do on a rainy day, get a really good rest.

Day 125 of 2022-Early morning

 Good Thursday morning! Some of us are really early risers. I know I am one for sure. I love the mornings to myself, just sitting in peace with my coffee and my thoughts.

I also noticed that sometimes when my mind starts the day which is the moment I wake up, it really does sometimes go down the path of all the negatives things that are happening. I have started to bring more awareness to it and am now working on training my mind to think of all the positive things and to relax.

The mind needs to be trained. What and how you think when you wake up impacts the rest of your day. If you wake up and feel tensed with all the things that you have to do, then you will end up being more tensed and your body will react to that tension.

So the first step is always an awareness. Know what you are thinking. Then ask yourself if what you are feeling is really real in this moment. When I am having my coffee, there is no real tension so I need to bring myself to the present and realize that at this moment, I should not be feeling tensed.

Its when we think ahead of all the days responsibilities at work or home that causes the tension. You need to train yourself to being your attention back to the present moment. Yes, you do need to tackle the day, but at this moment of having your coffee, you are just suppose to enjoy your coffee.

The tasks will get done, work is not going anywhere and you will get to it. Train your mind in the mornings to just be present with yourself and whatever else you are doing. When you need to start working, then tackle those responsibilities. Ask yourself, do I need to think about my work when I am having my morning tea or coffee. The answer for me is always a no.

So enjoy your mornings and fill your mind with just the present moment.

My kids school is having teachers appreciation week this week. Take sometime to thank not just teachers but anyone in your life. If you are at the grocery store, take the time to say to the cashier or thank you or even have a great day.

A lot of times we go through our hectic weeks just running around and don't have time to give thanks. Lets remember to always give thanks and to smile. It makes your day go better.
