Hi Friends,
I came across this quote today:
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." — Carl Rogers
This resonates deeply because, so often, we believe we need to change first in order to deserve our own acceptance. We set conditions for self-worth, thinking, “I’ll accept myself once I lose the weight, get the promotion, or fix what’s wrong with me.” But the truth is, lasting change only begins with acceptance.
Acceptance isn’t about giving up or settling; it’s about acknowledging and embracing ourselves as we are in this moment—flaws, strengths, and everything in between. It’s the foundation of growth. Without it, change becomes a struggle rooted in rejection and self-criticism, which only makes transformation harder to sustain.
Paradoxically, when we stop resisting who we are and choose to embrace our imperfections, we create the space for true, meaningful change to happen. Acceptance is the first step, not the last, and it opens the door to becoming the best version of ourselves.
Wishing you peace and happiness from my heart to yours!
Peace
Monita
