A Quiet Thank You Under the Stars

 Day 270 of 2026

Hi Friends,

At 5:00 this morning, my dog needed to go outside. It was a cool Saturday morning and still pitch dark. I stepped out with him, looked up, and stopped for a moment.

The sky was clear, and I could see so many stars. Usually, at that hour, I’m thinking about getting back inside. But today I took a deep breath and said, “Thank you.”

It was such a small moment. My dog was simply taking care of his business, and I was standing there in the dark. Yet looking at those stars reminded me how big this world is. So much lies beyond the plans and worries that fill my day.

I stayed outside a little longer than I needed to. The cool air felt good, and for a few minutes, everything was quiet. I didn’t need the morning to be anything more than it was.

Sometimes gratitude arrives before sunrise, when you step outside for an ordinary reason and remember to look up.
