A Sunday That Feels Like Sunday

 Day 271 of 2026

Hi Friends,

Sunday has a funny way of making you think about Monday before Monday even gets here. You are sitting down with coffee, and suddenly your brain wants to know what is in the fridge, whether you answered that message, and why you agreed to something at nine in the morning. Give it a minute; you are still drinking your coffee.

There is a lot to like about a Sunday with no big plans. Breakfast can happen whenever you get hungry. You can take your time at the grocery store and buy the snack you came for instead of forgetting it. If someone asks what you are doing today, “I haven’t decided yet” is a perfectly good answer.

Sometimes the best part is getting out for a while. Go for a walk, browse a bookstore, pick up lunch, or visit a place you keep saying you will try. You might only be gone an hour. You might come home with a pastry and a story about a dog you met on the sidewalk. Both sound like a good afternoon.

Staying home can be just as nice. Open the windows if the weather is good. Put on music and make something easy to eat. Call someone you like talking to, especially if you have been meaning to catch up. And if you end up on the couch watching three episodes of a show, I hope they are good episodes.

At some point, you may feel like taking care of a few things before the week starts. Throw in some laundry, tidy the kitchen, or figure out what you want for dinner tomorrow. Those little jobs are much less annoying when you do them at your own pace, with a song on and a snack nearby.

The trick is knowing when you are done. There will always be one more thing to clean or another errand you could run. You can leave some of it for another day and still feel good about your Sunday.

As the evening rolls in, make it something to look forward to. Order your favorite takeout, cook with whatever you found at the store, or invite someone over. Light a candle if you like candles. Put on a movie you have already seen and love anyway. You have a whole evening to enjoy, even if tomorrow is busy.

So here is your Sunday motivation: do a little of what needs doing and plenty of what makes the day fun. Have the extra cup of coffee. Take the scenic route. Buy the pastry. You can think about Monday when it gets here.

Wishing you peace and happiness from my heart to yours!

Peace

Monita
