Day 272 of 2026
Hi Friends,
We are in the last couple of days of September. Before this month ends, it is worth finishing a few things you set out to do and starting one habit you have been putting off. Start by looking at your task list and picking the two or three items that are closest to done. These are usually the errands you keep postponing, the emails you still owe people, or the small projects that need an hour or two. Give each one a specific day this week and cross them off as you go. Most of them take less time than you have spent thinking about them, and finishing them means October starts without leftovers from this month.
Now pick one habit to begin before the month closes. For example, I am cutting back on sugar, and I am starting now instead of waiting for a perfect Monday. My plan is simple: no soda or sweetened drinks, dessert only a couple of times a week, and reading labels on things I buy out of habit, like cereal, yogurt, sauces, and granola bars. I am also clearing out the snacks I grab when I am tired and stocking fruit, nuts, and plain yogurt so there is always an easy option nearby. Your habit might be different, and that is fine. Think about a few things. What is the smallest version of it you could start this week? What usually gets in your way, and can you remove that ahead of time? When are you most likely to slip, whether that is mid-afternoon, after dinner, or the first morning of a busy week? If you can answer those three questions, you already have a plan.
Treat the first week as a trial. Pay attention to when the hard moments show up and have something ready for them. If you miss a day, go back to the plan the next morning and do not restart the whole thing. A change you can keep up for months is worth more than a strict version that lasts four days.
So here is your takeaway for the next two days: pick your two or three tasks and give them dates, choose one habit and set up your space so it is easy to follow, and begin before the month ends. That way, October starts with a routine already running.
Wishing you peace and happiness from my heart to yours!
Peace
Monita
