Good Monday Afternoon! How are you all feeling today? I woke up feeling very tired but managed to still get off the bed and go for my walk. It was a great feeling.
I am sure most of you have had plenty of days where it seems like there is just so much to do at work and for me I have a really ridiculous deadline for work every month where we need to submit an analysis. There is just never enough time and always too much.
So this morning, I had the dread feeling of not wanting to do it and wish I had a another job. I still have the feeling of wanting a different job but that is besides the point. With the deadline being this Thursday, I found myself really stressing and not wanting to do the work.
So I decided that as dreadful as I felt this morning, I was going to sit on my desk and not get up till I got through the most difficult part. I got something to eat and sat on my desk and did not get up till I got through the most difficult part of the analysis.
I finally just finished lunch and am now having my Jasmine tea. I can honestly say that I am glad I sat on my desk and kept my word of not moving till it got done. Sometimes, you just have to suck it up and do it anyways and I needed to change my mindset in order to do just that.
I do feel a lot better now and am glad I kept my own word. So for your something to think about today, are you in a position where you are just dreading to do something on your job but know that you have to? If so, what can you do to change your mindset to just get it done? Can you come up with a way.
For me, it seems to work to just force myself through it and as much as I do not have fun doing what I need to, I know that I will stick to my word.
So hope you are able to get over that dread and just get the work done. Then, go out and have fun!
