Bruce Lee said: "Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. In great attempts, it is glorious even to fail".
It reminds of trying and failing is better then not trying at all. Aim high and just go for it.
It is all about the steps and the choices you make and even if you don't get to where you want, at least you tried. That is glorious in and of itself.
