Day 18 of 2021- MLK

Good Monday Morning my friends! How was your weekend? How are you all doing? Today is a holiday to honor Martin Luther King's, a day where we honor the legacy, life and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King. Today, please take a moment to read the famous "I have a dream" speech delivered on August 28th, 1963 on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

I read online that Martin Luther King day "is the permanent observance theme is: "Remember! Celebrate! Act! A day on, not a day off!". I love that and do think it we can use that theme today to honor Dr. King and to "Remember, Celebrate, Act!. A day on and not a day off." I am going to remember what Dr. King said and all that he stood for, his famous speeches, commitment to equality for African Americans and his profound speeches. Such great acts of courage and bravery that I truly admire and in today's world that we are living such a great reminder.

We just got back from our trip and this will likely be very short. I love all of Dr. King's quotes but wanted to share some here as a reminder and hope that on this day, no matter what your thoughts are on the events in this country, I hope you find some inspiration wherever you are. Dr. King had many more great quotes online and I hope you do get to read them.

“The quality, not the longevity, of one’s life is what is important.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

“Only in the darkness can you see the stars.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'” – Martin Luther King Jr.

“If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.”– Martin Luther King Jr.

“Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Wishing you peace and happiness my friend from my heart to yours!

Peace,

Monita
