Good Afternoon my Friends! Happy Wednesday. Today was the Inauguration of the 46th president of the United States.
"An inauguration is a ceremony that formally marks the start of something. Inauguration can refer to a formal ceremony, such as one marking the start of a new term in office or the opening of a new wing in a museum, but it can be used more broadly to describe a less formal beginning."
Regardless of how you voted, today is the start of a new office, a new administration and a new beginning. Its time to move on and hope for the very best. Such a historic day to have the first female to be the vice president and truly gives young girls such hope to go after their dreams and to dream big and to go after your dreams. Don't give up trying.
Of note was the poet Amanda Gordon who was just so exquisite in her poetry and totally left me in awe. Here is part of the text of the poem:
We've seen a force that would shatter our nation rather than share it,
Would destroy our country if it meant delaying democracy.
And this effort very nearly succeeded.
But while democracy can be periodically delayed,
It can never be permanently defeated.
In this truth, in this faith, we trust.
For while we have our eyes on the future,
history has its eyes on us.
I truly hail her in her message of hope and healing in the face of forces. It was spectacular. I hope you check her performance online if you did to get a chance to see it.
Today is a new day for American with a new administration and I hope that no matter where you are, you use this moment to find your new beginning. I have been focused on writing and hoping to provide inspiration to stick and achieve your goals and today marks a historic day. Today is the day where America has the first Vice President female its a strong message to all of us and the young women.
Don't give in. Today is a new beginning and a year from now, history will tell how you did. Make it historic! Go for your dreams, stick to your resolutions and goals. Today is a new day. Mark it and remember it!
Wish you peace and happiness from my heart to yours!
Peace,
Monita
