Good morning. How are you all feeling this morning? How was wellness challenge 3? Make gratitude a part of our life daily and count your blessings everyday.
So today is challenge 4 and all about getting organized.
Now, getting organized can feel like such a daunting task. How about starting small with maybe just your office space or where you work? It does not need to a full blown decluttering day but start with one area. There are so many benefits with getting organized and lots of good books written about it such as Tidying up by Marie Kondo, which I strongly recommend.
There are lots of areas in my house that I need to attend to. With the pandemic, its been hard to keep my pantry organized and my desk area clear. So I did get my desk organized and it has honestly helped me get more efficient and enables me to focus better on my work.
With the clutter that I had piled up, it was getting hard to stay focused on my job since I kept staring at the clutter. I knew that I had to get it cleared up and given that my desk is in my kitchen, it becomes the first place where I just pile stuff on.
Marie Kondo talks about 5 steps to get organized. The KonMarie method is:
- Discarding by category comes first.
- Break a category into subcategories as necessary.
- Keep only those things that spark joy.
- After you've finished discarding, organize your space thoroughly and completely.
- Do it all in one go.
