Hi Friends,
So it's 3:30pm on a Friday and my laptop is still open.
There's an email sitting in my drafts. A task that's 90% done. A thing I could probably finish if I just stayed another 20 minutes...
But like, jazz musicians just stop playing sometimes. Mid-song. They hit their note and walk off stage.
They don't stick around for "just one more riff" or "let me just polish this chord real quick."
They're done. So they stop.
Why can't I do that? Why can't Friday afternoon just be the moment I close the laptop and walk away?
Not because everything's finished. Not because my inbox is at zero. Just because it's Friday at 3:30pm and that's reason enough.
The email will be there Monday. The task will still be 90% done. Nobody's life depends on me sending one more "just following up!" message before the weekend.
Anyway, this week I'm trying to remember: Friday afternoon isn't the obstacle to finishing. It's the finish line.
Am I closing my laptop right now?
...almost.
Okay fine, now.
What's keeping your laptop open right now that could absolutely wait till Monday?
Wishing you peace and happiness from my heart to yours!
Peace
Monita
